2. How MySongAI Uses Cookies
We keep our use of cookies minimal and privacy-respecting. Here is a full list of what we use:
Authentication Session Cookie
next-auth.session-token
Purpose: Keeps you logged in when you authenticate with Google OAuth.
Type: Essential — the site cannot function without it for logged-in users.
Duration: Session (deleted when you close your browser, or sooner if you log out).
Third-party: No.
Language Preference
dmai_lang (localStorage)
Purpose: Remembers your chosen display language across visits.
Type: Functional — stored in localStorage, not a cookie; not transmitted to our server.
Duration: Persistent until cleared.
Third-party: No.
Plausible Analytics (cookieless)
Purpose: Privacy-friendly website analytics — page views, referrers, and general usage statistics.
Type: Analytics — Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect any personal data. No cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting. GDPR consent is not required.
Duration: No cookies set.
Third-party: Yes — Plausible Analytics (EU-hosted, GDPR-compliant). See Plausible's privacy policy.
3. Cookies We Do NOT Use
- Advertising or remarketing cookies
- Social media tracking pixels (Facebook, Google Ads, etc.)
- Cross-site behavioral tracking
- Third-party analytics with personal data (Google Analytics, etc.)
4. Do I Need to Consent?
Because we only use one essential cookie (required for login) and a cookieless analytics tool, we do not display a cookie consent banner. The essential session cookie is strictly necessary to provide the service to logged-in users and is exempt from consent requirements under the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR.
If you do not log in, no cookies are set at all.
5. How to Control Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View all cookies currently stored
- Block all or specific cookies
- Delete cookies when you close your browser
Note: blocking the authentication cookie will prevent you from logging in. You can still use MySongAI as a guest (order by email) without any cookies.
